Last Names

Am I the only one that thinks that it's a little odd that two women who grew up together now have totally different last names?

I mean, I've been married three years (+), and I've pretty much gotten used to the whole different-name-different-identity thing, but it just hit me again: my sister and I have different names now.

what i think is strange is when i go out to dinner with my brother's wives now, we all have the same last name. i grew up as the only daughter and now have two sisters-strange that we each sign the same last name...

I sometimes sign my maiden name without thinking...I look at the credit card slip and have to cross out and rewrite my last name. Oops!

I guess that's part of leavin' and cleavin'.

It is strange, Krista. It hits me at different times, like you said. I kept my maiden name as a middle name because I'm still attached to it in some ways. I was the last ___ in my extended family since there were no boys to carry it on.
